SUBARNAPUR, 18/7 PASHCHIM ODISHA BARTTA (UGRASEN KARMI): 165.2 mm of rain has fallen in Binika area of Subarnapur district for two days in low pressure rain.  Due to heavy rains, people are facing non-existent problems.  There is such a strange picture that a student is sitting on a brick and reading a lesson because there is water in the school room.  One such picture has been seen in Ward No. 12 Nuapali  Government Higher Primary School under Binika NAC.  The school has been running in a dilapidated building for many years.  Due to heavy rains for 2 days now, the asbestos of the said school has been broken, so the water is running inside the school room.  Due to the lack of classrooms, students are sitting on bricks and studying.  Dissatisfaction is increasing as no action is being taken even after repeated complaints regarding such problems.  While the government is saying that it is giving importance to education, here is a different picture of it.  In this school, one class room and another old dilapidated asbestos room are used for classes from 1st to 8th class.  88 students are studying in this school from first to eighth grade.  Due to the lack of classrooms, the teachers are forced to teach the students in the veranda.  Similarly, the kitchen, which was started in 2008, is also in an incomplete condition.  It is alleged that it is better not to speak on rainy days when it is difficult to cook.  While the block education officer's office has instructed not to seat the students in the school verandah, teachers and students are forced to sit in the verandah due to lack of classrooms.  The villagers complained about the school problem many times in the past few days in the complaint hearing camp of the  Collector.  The  Collector directed the District Education Officer to take appropriate action.  As no action has been taken till date, the discontent is growing.  Similarly, Binika NAC Executive Officer, Block Development Officer and Block Education Officer have also been given a written complaint regarding the problem.  The villagers complained that it is unfortunate that no one took any steps.  On the other hand, the government is converting 5 -T schools into high schools.  It is alleged that primary schools are being forgotten.  The villagers have warned that if funds are not provided for new rooms in this school immediately, they will take an agitational approach.  In this regard, District Education Officer Laxman Bhoi said that after discussing with Binika Block  Development Officer, immediate steps will be taken.
